Day 17

Today I stayed home from work and slept until 3:00, getting some much needed rest.  I feel much better now and ready to face the world again.  I had some very interesting dreams during my daytime slumber, including one about going to a water park with friends and family and getting a makeover at the water park.  When I woke up I was sad that I wasn't at a water park or looking fabulous.

Days 15 & 16....

Yep, that about sums it up.  Also, I've been working like crazy the last two days, but I imagine my efficiency may be slightly affected by the cold and/or Nyquil....The pizza tasted better than the the medicine.  Here's hoping tomorrow I stop trying to hack up a lung.....it will be Classy Wednesday after all.

Days 11 & 12

Yesterday (AKA Day 11) I GOT UP WHEN THE ALARM WENT OFF THE FIRST TIME.  I will give you a moment to let that sink in....

A MOMENT

....and it was at 4:30!  On Wednesday afternoon Jenee and Marcel told me they were going to meet at the gym the next morning at 5:30 and that if I didn't show up Jenee would punch me in the face.  At 4:30 I turned off my alarm and thought it's waaay to early for me to get up, crap,  if I don't Jenee is going to punch me in the face.  And I truly believed she would.  Therefore, fear made my ass get up.

At 5:10 I was dressed and fed with 1/2 of a Monster in me as I headed to my car.  I got to the gym at 5:30 and Jenee was on a bike.  Marcel was not able to make it, but she more than made up for it by going with us at lunch and this morning and after work today.  I did my couch to 5K run and then weights for my legs.  THEN on lunch the three of us went to the gym again and worked out, and we are quite proud of how awesome we are and hope we still feel the same in February.

Today was Aiden's 6th birthday and six may not seem that old, but I got to thinking and in 12 years he will be 18.  And that  led me to think oh 12 years is a pretty long time....until I remembered that I've know my husband for 12 years now and I can still remember the day we met like it was last week. And then I thought about how older people are always saying time flies, and I'm starting to feel that way.  That's good and bad....good because that means at the current rate of exercise and better diet we will be hot bitches in no time!  Bad for the obvious reasons.

Marcel and I went to the gym after work today and we both did the couch to 5k.  It was bitterly cold today so we deserve a double pat on the back for going.  Jenee couldn't go because she was busy getting her face numbed.

I bought Aiden a Burger King kid's meal for dinner for his birthday and was worried about being tempted to buy something for myself.  Marcel helped me conquer this fear by giving my brain a visualization of someone gross and creepy making my food while naked.  That killed it for me....until I saw a picture of a "warm, oreo brownie sundae"....assholes. But I prevailed and only purchased the kid's meal.

Days 8, 9, and 10....

Today Jenee came back!  Hooray!  A lot can happen in a week, and a lot did happen last week that we had to catch Jenee up on.  Unfortunately I can't disclose any of that information via this blog at this time, but look for it in my autobiography coming out in 2050.

Monday I spent the evening watching the Big Bang Theory.  I've started with the first season and therefore have some catching up to do.  I don't really remember what I did during the day on Monday, other than going to the gym with Marcel at lunch and almost getting t-boned during an impromptu high five celebrating how awesome we are for working out.  We're fine, but thanks for your concern.

Yesterday Marcel forgot her clothes for the gym, and didn't want to work out naked, so we didn't go.  Instead we played Jenga and discussed the intricacies of how the Jenga plant operates - such as how many buyers do they have, what kind of quality control do they perform, what raw materials do they purchase....

After work I went to donate plasma to earn some extra cash for paying off debt.  While I was hooked up I started wondering about the gloves they use....mainly how many boxes they have to purchase each month, who their vendor is, if they get a discount, if they have a specific person who purchases the gloves, if they have a purchasing request form they use....and then after about 20 minutes of thinking about these gloves I realized.... I need a vacation.

Day 7

Today I cleaned more and made waffles for breakfast.  Shawn and I donated plasma to put extra money towards debt.  No exercising since it is Sunday, and according to the spiffy calendar Jenee made me Sunday is my off day....and therefore my new favorite day.

Today marked 1 week and 1 day of not eating out/fast food/gas station snacks or drinks for me and the hubby.  We did decide that after donating we could splurge on 1 Dr. Pepper (savored to the last drop) and 1 M80 Monster.

To summarize the first week of the year-
-We've paid off 1 credit card and have started working on paying off the next
-We haven't eaten out, including fast food
-No weight lost according to the scale, but I feel better and my pants fit better so I'm counting that as a win
-Completed week 1 of couch to 5K
-so far only 2 purchasing emergencies at work this year....

1.  Card of 5, Black

Days 5 & 6

Yesterday my jeans fit better :)

Marcel and I didn't go to the gym, as we were both super busy and planned on going after work.  I didn't end up leaving until around 3 and by then I needed to go grocery shopping before getting Aiden.

I didn't work out when I got home either, but I'm still proud of myself (and Marcel) for working out 4/5 days of the work week.  I need to go run today and it's not too terribly cold so I won't catch pneumonia or something.

I spent my Saturday cleaning and watching Doogie Howser, M.D.  I must say that Neil Patrick Harris is  much better looking as a man than a teenage boy (or maybe it was the 80's haircut).

Or maybe I've reached an age where I find older men more attractive than younger men....

I find the Doogie Howser episodes funny because the first season is so focused on him hooking up with girls....I just keep telling Vinnie and Wanda "If only you knew...."

Day 4

Today I was SUPER busy at work (no sarcasm, I was actually busy).  Marcel and I made it to the gym at lunch AGAIN and we simultaneously determined we were awesome for doing so.  We both attempted to drive each other to the gym which resulted in each of us sitting in our separate cars for about 5 minutes until Marcel came over to my car laughing because she had been waiting for me to get in her car to leave.  Jenee is still in California probably getting tanner and blonder and I can count at least 6 inside jokes she has missed out on this week - including one about nice pants.

My husband has discovered that I will get out of bed in the morning if he turns the light on and takes the covers.  I feel that one day very soon I will be getting up when the alarm goes off the first time.

I really wanted a Dr. Pepper today, but I was strong.  Can't be giving in on only the fourth day!  Did you know that 75% of Americans make new year's resolutions and that 45% of that 75% break their resolution by January 4th?  Also, 83% of statistics are made up on the spot.

My husband got his w-2 today and I started on our taxes, not because we are getting a ton of money back, just because I like doing them....

Day 3

Today was classy Wednesday and I classed it up in a skirt and pantyhose.  I also had a shirt on.

Marcel and I went to the gym on lunch while Jenee was probably still asleep in Cali.  (That's short for California) Having someone to talk to while at the gym makes working out go so much faster.  Perhaps next time I'm at the gym alone I will strike up a conversation with my treadmill neighbor.  Maybe it will be jump rope man. I feel like jump rope man should have a name, and that name should be Randy.

After lunch I ordered more stuff and received in the stuff that I had ordered yesterday. I know you're probably confused about how my job works, but I hope by explaining these intricacies it will become clearer each day for you.

It is day 4 of not eating out and no Dr. Pepper.  I miss the doctor.  He is so delicious.

In case you didn't get a chance to ask me today, acetone has been ordered and will be here tomorrow morning.

Here are two delicious doctors:

Day 2

My legs hurt.

Today it was back to work and of course it was bitterly cold.  I had a busy day of ordering all of the stuff I wasn't allowed to order last month.  I had to face the day without Jenee or Marcel, as they are both slackers and took the day off (not together, thankfully, because I would have felt quite left out if they did that).

I am proud of myself for eating lunch at my desk and going out into the cold to drive to the gym.  The girl at the front desk asked me if I was all alone today because Jenee, Marcel, and I go to this particular location together. I should have burst into tears and shouted "Yes!  Rub it in why don't you?"  Instead, I told her I was being good while they were off taking vacation days.  She gave me the required half laugh you learn in customer service school.

I did day 2 of Couch to 5K on the treadmill at the gym.  Then awkwardly stretched while a man jump roped 2 feet in front of my face.  Maybe it was 3 or 4 feet, either way it was CLOSE because I could feel the wind coming off his jump rope swings.  I feel like there is a proper word for jump rope swings, but you can google it if you really care that much.

After lunch I ordered some more stuff.  And then a little while after that, more stuff was ordered.  Tomorrow I will get to receive the stuff that I ordered today and then on Thursday I will receive in stuff that I have to order tomorrow.  And so goes the cycle.....

Here's a picture of a man jump roping in case you weren't able to visualize it earlier....

Unfortunately he didn't look like this, nor was he shirtless.

Day 1

Today was a success!

I completed my dvd workout and ran for my first day of couch to 5K, even though it was cold and snowy out.

I also made $30 by taking the cans in for recycling and by exchanging a robe at Kohl's.  The robe had went down in price and I just needed a bigger size. So they returned the first one for $32 and then I purchased the replacement for $15.

2nd day of not eating out of the new year (I know, it is quite the accomplishment)
No Soda for two days :) (But still addicted to LoCarb Monster for now)

New Year's Resolution(s)

Like most of the population today I have put my New Year's resolutions into motion.  The last resolution I remember seriously following through on was in 2000.  It was my senior year of high school, and miraculously the world did not end when 1999 turned over to 2000.  My resolution was to stop drinking caffeine.  I don't really remember why I made it- probably just to say I made a resolution.  My caffeine dry spell lasted all the way into June....until I went to college for a freshman seminar and the Pepsi machine in my dorm got the better of me one lonely Wednesday night.

Now it is 2012 and the world may or may not end this year, but in case it doesn't I'm going to be prepared for an excellent 2013.

I have two resolutions this year-

#1  To become one hot bitch.

#2  To payoff all debt except student loans and the house

C-r-a-z-y....and I'm still working on my 30 list.  It's going to be one hell of a ride!

I'm going to try my best to blog about this year's journey.  Tomorrow starts day 1 of a 2 month plan to get ready for a mini-mini marathon in May :) and the first day of paying off debt (taking the cans in to recycle for cash)

I don't feel like today's post is very funny, so I will leave you with this:

GO GO RESOLUTIONS!!
